Hip Replacement Surgery
Hip replacement surgery restores mobility and relieves chronic pain by replacing damaged hip joint surfaces with durable prosthetic components, helping you regain an active, independent life. Me and my team customize this procedure to your specific condition, whether due to arthritis, injury, or wear, to ensure optimal function and comfort.
Hip replacement surgery is either total (replacing the entire joint) or partial (replacing only the damaged portion), depending on the extent of your hip damage. Understanding these options helps us choose the approach best suited to your pain and mobility needs.
Knee Replacement Surgery
Knee replacement surgery restores mobility and relieves chronic pain by replacing your damaged knee joint surfaces with durable prosthetic components. Me and my team tailor this procedure to your specific condition, whether caused by arthritis, injury, or wear, to ensure optimal function and comfort.
Knee replacement can be total (replacing the entire joint) or partial (replacing only the damaged compartment), depending on the extent of your knee damage. Understanding these options helps you choose the approach best suited to your pain and mobility needs.
Meet Dr. Sandra
The summer before medical school, my grandmother fell and fractured her hip. Her orthopedic surgeon’s skill and compassion restored her mobility. That emergency turned into a blessing because it had an unexpected positive impact on her quality of life.
Once she had fully recovered, she discovered a lot of the chronic pain she felt before her fall was much more manageable, and some of it gone completely. Witnessing the impact that had on her, from doing simple things we take for granted pain-free to picking up old hobbies she had to stop because of pain, inspired me to specialize in orthopedic surgery.
My staff and I are committed to helping elderly patients rediscover their lives with less pain. Our state-of-the-art facility helps you get back to enjoying life with less pain. We have the most advanced techniques and treatments to get you there as quickly and safely as possible.
Every patient’s journey is personal to me because I know the impact this has on you and the ones you love.

I get a lot of interesting questions from my patients, here are some of my favorites...
“What’s your favorite way to unwind after a long day of surgeries?”
After a day in the operating room, I have to get outside and get some sort of exercise in. I enjoy taking quick walks around the block on break, after work I go for a quick run, and on weekends I enjoy hiking and biking local trails.
“What made you want to be a doctor in the first place?”
Growing up I was always interested in science and found our bodies to be fascinating. For whatever reason I always excelled in those classes and found it easy to retain a lot of the information. Medical school was so enjoyable because we went through the entire body in detail whereas now I specialize in orthopedics.
“Do you have any quirky habits in the operating room?”
Most of my patients are surprised (and maybe a little confused) to learn that we enjoy listening to music during surgery. This is something I learned from one of my mentors. It keeps the vibes light and my focus sharp. My team teases me but I know they enjoy it too. You’d be surprised how many surgeons I know that have their special surgery playlist lined up before each surgery.
“What’s the most memorable patient story you’ve experienced?”
Oh, picking one is tough, but I’ll never forget a 78-year-old patient who came in barely walking due to knee pain. After her replacement, she sent me a video of her ballroom dancing at her grandson’s wedding! Moments like that, where I see patients take back control of their lives, make every long day worth it.
“Do you ever get nervous before a big surgery?”
Honestly, a little flutter is normal for everyone—it’s a sign you care deeply about something. But I channel that energy into focus. I just remember how big of an impact we can make on our patients and how that’s only possible by being thorough and focused. Knowing I’m helping you reduce your pain and increase your quality of life turns those nerves into excitement every time.
“What’s something you enjoy outside of work?”
I do enjoy being active, everything from walking to hiking to biking. I also enjoy sketching landscapes from my hikes. I enjoy how relaxing it is, plus it keeps my hands and coordination sharp. Any arts or crafts I enjoy because using my hands reminds me of surgery.
“What’s the best advice you’ve ever gotten?”
Every patient I’ve helped is full of wisdom and has given me great advice. The simplest things are usually the ones I hear the most – be true to yourself, don’t work too hard and always make time for family, and check in regularly with family and friends. All simple but so true.
